Fulton man accused of sodomy against children

A Fulton man is in the Callaway County Jail facing six felony charges involving two victims under age 15, including two statutory sodomy charges.

Justin Brent Wedepohl, 23, faces two felony first-degree statutory sodomy charges relating to two victims, both under age 15, in an incident that occurred on Aug. 1, 2012.

Wedepohl also has been charged with two counts of enticement of a child and two felony counts of tampering with a victim/witness.

Callaway County Sheriff Dennis Crane said Wednesday parents of the youngsters told his office about the incidents for the first time on May 21.

"The victims were ages nine and 10," Crane said. "We are protective of the rights of the youngsters and we are not revealing whether they were male or female."

Crane said the incidents occurred in a rural residence near Millersburg with a Fulton address.

The sheriff said the investigation revealed Wedepohl exposed himself several times to the children and also tried to intimidate them so they would not reveal the incident.

Wedepohl was arrested Tuesday and was arraigned Wednesday. He was represented by the Callaway County Public Defender's Office.

A hearing on the six felony charges is scheduled for July 12.

Wedepohl is in Callaway County Jail with his bond set at $100,000.
