New leadership announced at Helias High School

Bishop John Gaydos of the Diocese of Jefferson City, has appointed Rev. Stephen W. Jones as president of Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City, effective for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Father Jones succeeds Didier "Di" Aur, who recently announced he was leaving to return to his home of Memphis, Tennessee to become principal of Resurrection Catholic School.

Bishop Gaydos also has announced the appointment of Rev. Anthony J. Viviano as chaplain of Helias Catholic, effective at the beginning the new academic year.

"I am very pleased that Fr. Jones has accepted this new role at Helias Catholic," said Bishop

Gaydos. "We look forward to the new leadership and energy that he will bring to his duties."

Fr. Jones currently serves the diocese as chaplain of Helias Catholic, sacramental minister to St. Michael Church in Russellville and director of the diocesan youth ministry office. He will continue his duties at Russellville, and also will serve in the youth ministry position until he begins his new duties at Helias Catholic. At that time a search committee will be created to fill the position of director of youth ministry.

Fr. Viviano is currently an associate pastor at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City.

On June 9, 2012, Bishop Gaydos ordained him a priest for the diocese of Jefferson City along with Fr. Jones.
