BizBeat: New girls' clothing store to open in Capital Mall

The Capital Mall will introduce a new store to Jefferson City beginning in early July.

Justice, a girls clothing store targeting the tween market, will begin construction Monday on the currently vacant storefront next to RadioShack in the Dillards wing of the Capital Mall.

General Manager Jamie Reed said the new addition to the mall will fill a void in the Jefferson City community.

"It serves a big need in this community and will make a lot of young girls, and their parents, happy," Reed noted.

"We knew that this market would be good for Justice. We have the demographics, and we proved it would be a good fit for their store. They are on board and excited about it."

Since F&F Development purchased the local shopping center earlier this year, Reed said the development has been targeting national brands to fill the vacant storefronts. Justice is one such chain, and its addition will help the mall attract others.

"We're working with several national stores," Reed explained. Attracting Justice "will increase the foot traffic and sales for the entire center."

The general manager said the mall has nearly 15 vacant spaces of varying sizes.

"We are working hard to make it a better shopping experience for customers so they aren't having to drive to do their shopping," he said.

The closest Justice stores are located at the Lake of the Ozarks and in Columbia. The store offers clothing, shoes and accessories for girls ages 6 to 14 years old.
