Helias soccer team falls in state title game

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders allowed a pair of goals in the final six minutes and dropped a 2-0 decision to St. Dominic in the Class 2 state soccer title game Saturday at Blue Springs South High School.

Helias had a goal waved off midway through the second half when an official called the Lady Crusaders offside.

The second-place finish is the highest ever for the Lady Crusaders soccer program which ends the season with a 17-9 record.

St. Dominic, which was ranked No. 1 in the country by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, ends its season at 26-0-1.
