KMBC: Search for Chad Rogers Thursday night report

KMBC-TV filed this report Thursday night about the role social media has played in volunteer efforts to find Chad Rogers.

Instead, volunteers plan to canvass Liberty neighborhoods and stores on Friday with missing person flyers about Chad Rogers' mysterious disappearance.

Since Rogers was reported missing on Tuesday after failing to return to his Liberty home from a Monday evening run, hundreds of volunteers have participated for three straight days in a police-coordinated search of the area where he may have been jogging but they've turned up no sign of him. Police dogs picked up Rogers' scent during an early phase of the search but their tracking efforts failed to lead to his whereabouts.

The citizen effort to locate Rogers is being fueled by family, friends and other supporters on social media. A new "Bring Chad Rogers Home" page on Facebook is providing updates. It has replaced a different page that was utilized earlier in the week.
