A suspicious substance was found at a local business Monday morning and authorities are investigating who may have left it.
According to reports from the Jefferson City Fire Department, crews were called just after 9 a.m. to go to Pathways Community Health, 1905 Stadium Boulevard.
Two small packages were found outside the building and it was decided to have the Cole County Hazmat team come in and analyze them.
They eventually determined it was a hazardous substance, but authorities would not say what it was.
The packages were taken to the Missouri Highway Patrol Crime Lab for further analysis and the Jefferson City Police Department is conducting an investigation.
No injuries were reported.
The building was not evacuated. All workers and visitors were kept inside while emergency officials conducted procedures outside.
