Elder breaks tourney mark

COLUMBIA — Tanner Elder continued his torrid pace on the golf course this summer.

The Blair Oaks sophomore shot a 67 to win the 13-15 year age group at the Show-Me State Games Saturday at A.L. Gustin Golf Course.

Elder’s 3-under-par broke the old record for that age group set in 2001.

Elder, who was the runner up in Class 1 last season, has won several junior tournaments this summer and will represent Missouri in the Junior Cup later this month in Jackson, Mississippi.
