Pressey inks deal with Celtics

A former Missouri Tiger appears like he may have a spot in the NBA after all.

Point guard Phil Pressey has signed a multi-year contract with the Boston Celtics, according to the Boston Globe.

Pressey was undrafted after leaving school following his junior season. But he signed a free-agent contract with the Celtics shortly after the draft. He evidently did enough during the summer league for the Celtics to give him an opportunity.

He averaged 10 points and 5.8 assists per game during four games in the Orlando Summer League.

Pressey averaged 11.9 points and 7.1 assists per game during his junior year at Missouri.

Another former Tiger is without an NBA team after the Toronto Raptors parted ways Wednesday with Linas Kleiza via the amnesty clause.

If Kleiza is not claimed off waivers, he becomes an unrestricted free agent. Kleiza receives his remaining salary.
