Mo. motel resident accused of killing neighbor

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. (AP) — A suburban Kansas City motel resident is charged with killing a woman staying in a nearby room.

The Kansas City Star (http://is.gd/t0GFw0) reports that 47-year-old Delana Mckissic faces charges of second-degree murder, armed criminal action and evidence tampering in the April death of 44-year-old Lisa Ruttenberg. No attorney is listed for Mckissic in online court records.

Kansas City police crime lab personnel discovered a blood trial between Ruttenberg’s and Mckissic’s rooms at the Nights Inn & Suites in Blue Springs. Wintesses also reported seeing Mckissic with a wooden board wrapped in tape.

Court records say Mckissic told authorities she said she had been in and out of the victim’s room and had thrown away items from the victim’s room while wearing gloves. But she denied killing Ruttenberg.
