Former Stover cop charged with statutory rape

Second-degree statutory rape charges have been filed against a former Stover reserve police officer and California resident.

Aaron W. Nelson, 23, was charged Monday after being arrested at his home. In Moniteau County Circuit Court, he faces three cases and a total of six counts of statutory rape, a Class C felony.

According to court documents, Nelson admitted having sexual intercourse with three separate females knowing they were 16 and 15 at the time. The incidents allegedly occurred in his California, Mo., home.
