Mo. House hearing on voter ID changed after outcry

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — The leader of a Missouri House committee says she’ll reschedule a 6:45 a.m. hearing on voter ID legislation after opponents of the measure complained.

Next Tuesday’s hearing on a bill requiring voters to show photo identification at the polls would have started 15 minutes before the Capitol’s front doors are usually unlocked.

House Elections Committee chairwoman Sue Entlicher (ENT’-lih-kur) had scheduled the 6:45 a.m. hearing. The Bolivar (BAH’-luh-vur) Republican said she was just trying to allow enough time for people to testify on the measure before the House goes into session at 10 a.m.

Democratic Secretary of State Jason Kander issued a statement Thursday saying the early hearing would create an unnecessary hardship for people wanting to attend.

Entlicher says the hearing will be rescheduled for 8 a.m. instead.

Aggghhhhhh...EEEEEEE...FREAKIN NUFFF ALREADY with this Voter ID. JOBS, JOBS, JOBS, JOBS, JOBS, JOBS. That's the priority. Voter ID is something for later and in fact isn't even neccessary. You foklks crying about your gun rights being taken away....which isn't the case, but you sit silent while this Govrerment Mob is trying to deny and or hinder the peoples right to vote. The Constitution doesn't call for showing ID to vote...so what gives? Why should anyone have to show an ID to vote, that is a clear violation of what the Constitution calls for....but if ya have to show an ID..why isn't a MO. Driver's License, Mo. State ID, Mo, College ID, MIlitary ID good enough? This call for a special ID is pure Voter Supression. Check this out.... The average age for the worlds greatest civilizations from begining to end is 200 years. During that time nations have gone from bondage to spiratul faith, from spritual faith to great courage, from great courage to liberty, form liberty to abundance, from abundance to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependance and from dependance BACK to BONDAGE!!!! Guess where this voter ID has America headed?

But you are all for showing ID to buy and placing hindrances to owning or outright banning firearms.

You also forgot complacency to Liberalism to apathy and bondage.

What's so hard about showing your I.D. in order to vote? Have many people been killed from this? You can't join a club without some I.D., why expect to be a citizen without it?

If they have to show ID they would lose a huge percentage of their voters. 118% plus voter turnout in some areas with 100% democrat ballots in those same areas is clear evidence of voter fraud. Yet in true Liberal fashion they say prove it when they have already fought and won the legal battle that removed the Republicans from investigating voter fraud. Eric "my People" Holder sure isn't going to investigate now is he.

I have no problem with showing an ID. I got em all....Military, Retired Military, Student, Mo Driver's License, State Agency ID, etc, etc...but that's not the point. A person's right to vote is not based on their ability to provide an ID..per the Constitution. But if a person does have to show an ID to vote...THEN IT SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM for a person to present an ID and then register the fire arm THEY PRUCHASED! Ohhhh no but showing an ID and registering a fire arm is to much trouble and violating a persons 2nd Amend rights. Well what is making a person present not just a regular state ID, but a special "Voter's ID" before they can cast their vote? Add in the hoops and other mind games that a person must go throhhg in order to get the ID and it's really getting worse.

Hey folks I ain't no liberal or concervative. I'm an American who has no problem speaking in defense of wehat is right....not just for me for for the masses! I think that's difference between some of you and me. I'm no just coincerned about myself. My focus is on what's best for all. I understand sacrafice, I accept the need to work hard, I know that we all cannot achieve perfection, but we can all work towards excellence. I champion fairness, yet realize that in order for that to be enjoyed, people need to be made aware that "there are some people in this country who feel they deserve all the benefits and nobody else beside them is deserving.

Newsflash sport, we been showing an ID to purchase firearms for as long as I been buying em and if you are comparing showing an ID to vote as equal to registering a firearm you're a lost cause anyway and showing your only interested in what effects you and yours.

You need an ID to buy snot medicine, ride in an airplane, rent a chainsaw, or buy a beer. What's the big deal requiring an ID to vote?

So what's the up roar all about registering those fire arms. for.."SPORT". And U show me where in the rules to vote does it say a person has to have not just an ID...but a voter's ID. Also...there have been more people killed by folks with guns than there have been people trying to vote illegally. Yet the voter ID is being pushed to be resolved before trying to stop gun violence. Where is your focus "SPORT"? Again, for me it ain't so much about the ID as it it is about having to get the "SPECIAL VOTER ID" and then having to jump through all those hoops in order to get it. Not to mention that huge voter fraud is all based on a lie...because there have not been that many people showing up at the poles to vote illegally!!! Oh sure the mail in ballots show a Mickey Mouse, Don Drisdale, Willie Mays and a few other's from the past...but that ain't happening at the poles.
You can play these silly games all you wish...but anyone willing to use their head for more than a hat rack can see...Voter ID legislation ain't as important as let's say...JOBS, the ECONOMY, ending the Wars...which by the way was created on false pretense....and the people who started those war's didn't SHOW NO STINKIN ID! We can do this all night...but it's still gonna come down to this. Since when is VOTER ID public enemy number 1?

Ok Junior. Even 18% overage of voters in one district comes up to over half the firearm deaths in 2009 alone. Some pundits claim there were as many as 5 million illegal votes cast this last go around, 2009 totals show close to 31K firearm deaths in the US.

5 million beats 31K BTW for the democrat number impaired.

A massive Illegal voting scam is far more dangerous than any firearms.

In order to vote in Missouri all I have to do is click on a web site link or sign up when I renew my drivers license. For a firearm I have to fill out a form and wait for a background check. They don't even check to see if your a felon for a voter card yet they do for a rifle.

You don't want background checks and questionnaires to vote because you say it's not Constitutional but yet you want to enforce those same rules on gun ownership when it also isn't mentioned in the Constitution.

I actually agree with proving your a citizen to buy a firearm so I agree to proving your a citizen to vote.

The hypocrisy is all yours Buddy.
