Lincoln women host Washburn tonight
Thursday, January 24, 2013
The task looks to be even tougher for the Lincoln women.
While the Washburn men are ranked 24th, the women enter today’s 5:30 p.m. tip-off at No. 14 in the country, according to the USA Today Division II Coaches Poll.
At 11-3 overall and 5-1 in the conference, the Lady Blues sit atop the MIAA standings. The Blue Tigers (8-8, 3-5 MIAA) rest at 11th.
Washburn, the defending regular season and tournament champions in the MIAA, were picked to win the league again by both the media and coaches. The Lady Blues suffered their first league loss Saturday to Northeastern State.
