Homework hijackers arrested

Two Linn State Tech College students have been charged with tampering with computers at the college.

According to Osage County Prosecutor’s Office, Joseph Stone, 19, Villa Ridge, and Andrew Paglusch, 19, Robertsville, are each charged with one count of a misdemeanor charge of tampering with computer data.

Missouri Highway Patrol probable cause statements show the two were arrested last week.

On Jan. 11, a malicious computer program was found installed on several computers available for students and faculty of the college to use.

Authorities could factor in the cost of fixing the damage and writing code to stop future incursions. Doing that, they would come up with more than enough to up the charge to a felony for each of them.

Kids will be kids. Back when I was in college, such pranks were ignored.

When I was in college the only thing that happened was a couple of kids supreglued the microbiology door closed.
