WARDSVILLE, Mo. — The Southern Boone Eagles have become accustomed to taking everyone’s best shot this season, thanks to their appearance in the state rankings.

On Tuesday night, one of their opponents delivered a knockout blow.

The Blair Oaks Falcons started hot and held off a furious charge from the Eagles, eventually claiming a 61-54 victory.

“I’m sure everyone wants to beat Southern Boone,” Eagles coach Andy Jahnsen said of his 10th-ranked team in Class 3. “When you’re a ranked team, that’s just part of it. I told the kids that ....
