New ‘Survivor’ offers Hope

Jefferson City’s Hope Driskill is about to be in the national spotlight again. The 2011 Miss Missouri USA is a contestant on the new “Survivor” show beginning next month.

Driskill, 23, will be one of 20 “castaways” on “Survivor: Caramoan.” The two-hour premiere is at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 on CBS. The winner gets $1 million. It’s the second “fans vs. favorites” themed show, which pits first-timers against returning players.

This 26th installment of the “Survivor” franchise was filmed on one of the Caramoan Islands, which bills itself as a “secret paradise” in the Phillippines that remains “unexploited from commercial tourism.”
