Sports just need to be sports

They say ignorance is bliss. That sounds like paradise right now.
It was a bizarre, sickening and twisted week in sports. Between the Manti Te’o fake dead girlfriend hoax and the too little too late Lance Armstrong confession, it’s a little much to handle.
I miss the days when I thought the world of sports was free of scandal, that my favorite athletes were basically superheroes and that my favorite pastime was, well, perfect.
Oh yeah, I was probably about 10 years old the last time I thought that. Those were the days.
It goes well beyond the two individuals I just mentioned. The laundry list of blemishes extends to many others, as well as teams, leagues and sports.
