JC Council to act on election funds

The Jefferson City Council is expected to take action Tuesday on a bill to authorize a supplemental appropriation of $40,000 to the city clerk's elections account.

The bill was placed on the informal calendar Jan. 7 by 2nd Ward Councilman Shawn Schulte, who had said he wanted to change the source of funds for the appropriation. Schulte said after thinking about the issue further, he decided the city had made commitments to residents on infrastructure projects that he didn't want to take back by diverting funding for elections.
