Another arrest for heroin distribution in JC
Friday, January 18, 2013
As part of an ongoing investigation into heroin related overdoses, the Jefferson City Police Department arrested 32 year old Jefferson City resident Frank Collins III for several counts of Heroin Distribution.
His arrest followed the December 14th arrest of 44 year old Jefferson City resident Tracy Davis.
Both suspects, who are originally from Chicago, are suspected to be involved in heroin distribution that resulted in several heroin overdoses throughout mid-Missouri.
Both have been formally charged with three counts of the distribution of controlled substances and are being held at the Cole County Jail on $250,000 bond.

Ahh, yeah; no attributable author to the story, and of the four sentences in the article are rather incom...
(did that on purpose--publish a full article, announce its truncation, or shelve it; it hurts your credibility, and that of who you employ)
I've never met anyone named "News Tribune". Met a few reporters, though.
I can regurgitate anything. I don't read this paper for the purpose of imbibing what amounts to vomit.
Just sayin'

It's become rather typical at most newspapers not to attach an author byline when it's a brief news item. In print at least, it would be an inefficient use of space to do that throughout the paper. Some of those conventions carry over to digital out of habit, but also because staff doesn't feel the need to take individual credit for every brief item they post. We don't feel that makes us anonymous because readers know where to find us if there's a question of accuracy. Regarding the concept of posting initial information in an ongoing case, which we typically do online before the next print cycle, there are some valid arguments against doing it piecemeal, but most members of the public expect it in this digital age. One advantage is it lets readers become part of the process by offering early feedback.

I think it's a toss up as to who is the worst. The seller or the buyer.
