Banquet to kick off weekend of pro-life events

David Bereit, the National 40 Days for Life director, will be the guest speaker at the annual Pro-Life Banquet at 7 p.m. Friday in Jefferson City at Capitol Plaza Hotel, 415 W. McCarty St.

“He’s an amazing speaker who grabs your heart and holds it,” said Kathy Forck, local 40 Days for Life organizer. “He will be sharing a story at the banquet that will have you on the edge of your seat."

A blockbuster of local pro-life leaders will also share their ministry’s mission and how volunteers may get involved.

The Midwest March for Life will be Saturday. Participants will gather before 10 a.m. on Madison Street to march to the Capitol steps for the rally. Prior to that, the Life Runners will hold a Run/Walk/Rosary from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Capitol steps. And information tables will be open 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Capitol Rotunda.
