Apparently Mr. Wallemann only sees what he wants to see when reading the newspaper. My previous letter specifically proposed eliminating concealed carry prohibitions, primarily in schools, through changes in law and policies. RSMo 571.107(10) is clearly an example in the law where management can simply change a policy to accomplish eliminating a gun-free zone. Wallemann also lists places where concealed carry is prohibited except owners and management of all the places he mentions can grant permission according to the provisions of RSMo 571.107.
My letter was also very specific about gun-free zones being associated with mass murders and how to cure the mass murder problem in schools as shown in the following sentence from my letter in question: "Remove ill- advised restrictions limiting concealed carry in schools and the mass murder problem is solved without any cost to the taxpayer." Wallemann then references places where mass murders are not a historical precedent.
Many restaurants serve alcohol yet are not places where concealed carry is banned because it clearly states in RSMo 571.107(7) The provisions of this subdivision shall not apply to any bona fide restaurant open to the general public having dining facilities for not less than fifty persons and that receives at least 51 percent of its gross annual income from the dining facilities by the sale of food. Apparently Wallemann didn't read the whole Missouri Statute.
Wallemann also states that concealed firearms can not to be carried in the Capitol. Part of RSMo 571.107(5) clearly shows otherwise: "Nothing in this subdivision shall preclude a member of the general assembly, a full-time employee of the general assembly employed under section 17, article III, Constitution of Missouri, legislative employees of the general assembly as determined under section 21.155, or statewide elected officials and their employees, holding a valid concealed carry endorsement, from carrying a concealed firearm in the state capitol building or at a meeting whether of the full body of a house of the general assembly or a committee thereof, that is held in the state capitol building;" I guess the common folk are not as important as the big shots. In Texas concealed carry holders have free access to the Texas Capitol, I guess Texans are better citizens than Missourians.
I recommend that Wallemann take a refresher course in reading comprehension before his next letter about I of my letters.
