Your Opinion: Faith provides hope
Saturday, January 12, 2013
Dear Editor:
This letter is in response to two letters from Cal Winter dated Dec. 20 and Jan. 6. Both of his letters give me the distinct impression that Winter is an atheist.
In his letter dated Jan. 6 he states, “I am in sympathy with any people who have felt disheartened by my giving them ‘too much information.’ After all, we’re just human, we have to get through life as best we can.”
I just want Winter to know that I feel sorry for him and am praying for him. I have experienced great joy in this life and I have experienced great sorrow. I have to believe there is something more to this life.
How sad and hopeless would your existence be without faith of something better to come. How sad to think that this is all there is. That once we are gone from our earthly home, we exist no more.
Whether we believe in a Christian God, Allah, Buddha, or just a higher power, we need to have faith in something.
After all, we are just human and have to get through life as best we can.

Why waste time believing in false gods? There is only one true God, and He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for us to save us from our sins. There is only One Source for our Hope.
