Mid-Missourians receive committee chairs, assignments

Eight Mid-Missouri lawmakers were named Thursday to chair state House and Senate committees.

Senate President Pro Tem Tom Dempsey, R-St. Charles, announced the committee chairman and membership appointments late Thursday morning, including state Sen. Mike Kehoe, R-Jefferson City, as chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

As most observers expected, Dempsey reappointed Sen. Kurt Schaefer, R-Columbia, as head of the 10-member, budget-writing Appropriations Committee.

Sen. Dan Brown, R-Rolla, is the other Mid-Missourian named to the Appropriations panel.
