Friday, January 11, 2013
On Thursday at about 9 p.m., Jefferson City police received a call of a masked gunman forcing his way into an apartment in the 3800 block of Candlelight Dive.
According to the caller, the gunman, who was wearing a ski mask, pushed his way through a door and pointed a handgun at the 18 year-old female resident.
The assailant demanded a backpack that was by a couch, but the victim screamed which alerted her mother who was upstairs, who also began screaming.
The suspect then quickly left back through the front door without taking anything.
The 18 year-old was unharmed.
Officers searched the wooded area by the apartments and talked with neighbors, but found nothing.
No evidence was left at scene.
Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact Jefferson City Police at 634-6400 or call CrimeStoppers at 659-TIPS.
