Dear Editor:
I have a question for Mr. Bruenger concerning his letter suggesting that we "eliminate gun-free zones."
Is he proposing the repeal of Chapter 571.107 of the Missouri Revised Statues in which certain locations, including schools, are listed as places where concealed weapons can not be carried?
I always found it interesting that the state Legislature, which passed the concealed weapon law, included in the statute that concealed weapons could not be carried within the state Capitol.
Of course that section also prohibits guns from places where alcohol is served, churches and many other locations.
It also includes the right of property owners to prohibit the guns.
I am hoping that Bruenger will be more specific in what he proposes be done.
