Lincoln to host Pittsburg State in doubleheader

The last time the Lincoln and Pittsburg (Kan.) State women met, the Blue Tigers pulled off a huge upset in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Tournament.

Meeting again at 5:30 p.m. today in a MIAA regular-season matchup at Jason Gym, Lincoln has yet another chance to score an upset.

Pittsburg State (9-3, 3-1 MIAA) enters play ranked No. 20 in the country in the USA Today/WBCA Division II Coaches Poll. Lincoln sits at 7-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

Today's 7:30 p.m. tip-off will be the second meeting of the season between the Lincoln and Pittsburg State men, although it will be just the first one that counts in the MIAA standings.

The Gorillas toppled the Blue Tigers 86-78 in the Freeman Sports/Chris Tucker Memorial Classic on Nov. 16 in Joplin.

Lincoln gets a chance to exact a measure of revenge on its home court. Boy, will it have its hands full.

Pittsburg State sits at 10-2 overall and 3-1 in the MIAA, while Lincoln is just 2-12 and 1-3 in conference play.
