Your Opinion: Why are gas prices higher locally?

Dear Editor:

I don’t understand why gas is always higher in Jefferson City than it is in other towns and cities in the area.

The fuel storage holding tanks are in Jefferson City. It seems logical that fuel would cost less when it does not have to be transported.

I keep hearing that there are three main people who own all the gas stations/convenience stores that control the cost of fuel and keep the price higher.
