Blair Oaks begins looking at expansion
Wednesday, January 9, 2013
WARDSVILLE, Mo. - At a work session Tuesday, the Blair Oaks School Board heard architect Cary Gampher describe a host of possible options for expanding the district’s facilities, including plans to increase the size of each of the district’s three main buildings or even possibly build a fourth school.
The board’s work is intended to identify solutions for the district’s growth patterns 25 years into the future.
Superintendent Jim Jones called the meeting a “brainstorming session,” and said Gampher’s work was “very preliminary.”

This is how a school district is supposed to prepare for expansion. JCPS may want to take notes!

^Indeed sir or madam. And whilst JCPS are taking notes from Blair Oaks on how to properly expand their school, Blair Oaks can take notes from JCPS on how to properly educate their students in order to enable them to pass Missouri state standardized tests :)

Maybe JC can learn from Blair Oaks on how to properly educate kids with IEPs instead of encouraging them to drop out of school.

It should have been noted in the article that the architect used by the district is the husband of the Blair Oaks Middle School principal. He's a good architect, but perhaps the district should consider avoiding an obvious conflict of interest.

He is the same guy helping the JC school board with the design for the megaschool. His kids are probably gonna have a very nice Christmas next year.

Cary is an outstanding architect so it is no wonder why he was chosen. I applaud Blair Oaks for being so forward thinking.
Years ago, a family wouldn't buy a house in the Blair Oaks school district, now it is the other way around. It is the 3rd fastest growing school district because people are fed up with JCPS.

This architect failed to design a functional middle school in which the board also carelessly overlooked. The kids have no locker space for coats and no auditorium. The school is already to small within five years of being built. Along with the relation to the middle school principal, why would Blair Oaks use the same architect who failed the district. A competent board and architect would have predicted the growth and built accordingly.
