A friendly 5-year-old, Michelle Scott-Huffman didn’t realize the impact her new neighbors would have on her life. She skipped across the street to introduce herself. And they introduced her to a lifelong faith.

Although no one in her extended family was religious, the young Scott-Huffman could be found using iced tea and pieces of bread to “play” Communion when other girls might be having tea parties. Now, she offers that sacred meal to her congregation at Table of Grace.

What will God say when you have to give an account of your actions...practicing homosexuals leading a church???

So only people without sin are allowed to lead a church? Is that what you are saying?

Probably has nothing to do with the competition.

The God I worship ain't short on cash.

Probably no more than God says about all the killing that is done is his name, or all the drinking/drugging/adultery that many church leaders engage in while praising his name.

Doesn't look like you have any problem judging others in his name....wonder what God will say about that?

Practicing homophobes will burn in hell just as fast as practicing homosexuals.

What does your God have to say about false prophets bndyvcky? As to this circumstance and in answer to your question, I'll refer you to Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."; Matthew 22:39 "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."; Mark 9:38-39 "And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbade him, because he followeth not us. (39) But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me."; Luke 6:37 "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven"; Mark 11:25-26 "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."; and finally Romans 13:9 "For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."

Pretty much sure that's your food for thought. It was wise to phrase your question as a question lest your court the fate of a false prophet.

@bndyvcky I feel that whatever God may have to say about it, is between Michelle and God. Lets be thankful that Michelle is reaching a segment of the population that feels as though they have been abandoned and rejected by God. After all, if God's grace were limited to those without sin and heterosexuals there wouldn't be anyone left in the church and surely not anyone to rescue it from fundamentalists.

If they are openly homosexual than there isn't any judging going on in anyone's name at least from the comments I see here.

The question as I see it isn't is if anyone is without sin. No one is.

The question is do they know what they have done is wrong and do they try and restrain themselves and repent. Do they try and follow the word of God even if they fail or do they merely attempt to smooth over their own sins by pointing out those of others.

Christians may steal, they may murder or commit adultery but attempting to base a Christian denomination while openly violating one of the fundamental beliefs of Christianity and calling attention to it is akin to founding the First Church of Open Adultery or something.

In my mind that is a greater sin than simply being weak and mistaken on a personal level but your mileage may vary I guess.

Everyone can have an opinion but only those who take action actually judge.

There are a multitude of homosexuals that are here now and it's nothing new. It goes back to the beginning of time no doubt. Are they born that way? Did God make them that way? Are they here for a reason? If so, what is the reason? I personally don't have a problem with homosexuals. Their people just like me except I prefer men when it comes to sex. The Bible says their an abomenation to God. Does that mean they go to hell? I believe not. What I think is that when we die we have choices to make. Beyond that I don't have a clue what happens and won't have any concrete answers until I die and I won't judge anyone and prefer not to have anyone judge me but if they do....oh well. I feel people should be allowed to make personal choices without fear of harm as long as they don't harm anyone. Live and let live. Amen. Bless the light pole. Put your socks on the right feet. Confused yet? Kinda like life. It gets confusing.

There's alot of things in the Bible that people choose to overlook. Seems quite popular to just pick and choose the passages that they follow and don't follow depending on how easy it makes their lives or fuels their bigotry n' anger. I personally believe that My God is a loving God, not a hateful God. That as long as you are a good person who treats others with love, kindness, respect, stay on the straight n' narrow, and to give a helping hand when needed..that he'd be a-okay with Me and all the other homosexuals who believe as I do. Besides, does Jesus not say to let he without sin cast the first stone? Take a look at your own life before you start making assumptions and such without even knowing a thing about someone. I for one would like to say thank you to this woman for providing the LGBT community, and any else who feels like they have no place, with a place of worship where there will be no judgement, rejection, or fear..just love, tolerance, and acceptance. We need a little more of that in the world.
