Sheriff: School security needs beefing up
Saturday, January 5, 2013
Speaking to a group of Rotarians on Friday, Cole County Sheriff Greg White laid out a three-pronged approach — including a proposal to arm some educators as “designated shooters” — that he believes would beef up security in the area’s schools.
White noted that school boards already have the capacity, under state law, to allow people to carry concealed weapons onto school campuses.
“That’s not necessarily my recommendation,” he said.

Sheriff White...please say you are not falling for this "arm the teachers" mess. Hardened target's/schools do nothing but make the agressors what to defeat the added security at the schools in order to prove they can. In order to defeat the extra security that will call for bigger guns and explosives of all types including chemical/biological ...most likely these explosives would be home made as all one has to do is research the inter-net to get the knowledge on how to make say " A DIRTY BOMB". Folks look at the real side of this....over all, American schools are safe as millions of students go to class every day safely. Sure there needs to be something to prevent school shootings...but teacher's/faculty with guns are not the best way to make it happen. Sheriff White...please don't make this mistake...doing so woukld more than likely come bacvk and bite ya, if you do

And you know this how? Based upon what data have you decided it will not work?
And yet, you believe that disarming those who have broken no laws will help?
You really do live in a delusional world.

They do have a sign out front that instructs the wacko shooters that no weapons are allowed inside, and that no one inside has a weapon. That should be enough to keep the shooters out and keep our children safe.
