Jefferson City police investigate shots fired

Jefferson City police recovered several spent pistol-caliber shell casings after investigating reports of shots fired in the eastern part of the city early Saturday.

The casings were picked up in the area of Olive and East High streets, where the first of several reports of witnesses hearing gunshots came in before 5 a.m. A caller also reported hearing one shot and seeing two vehicles leave the 900 block of Moreau Drive.

There were no reported injuries or cases of property damage related to the gunfire. No suspects or suspect vehicles have been identified so far.

Police are investigating several reports of gunshots being fired in eastern Jefferson City before 5 a.m. on Saturday.

Officers responded around 4:40 a.m. after callers reported hearing shots in the area of Olive and East High streets, as well as in the vicinity of Moreau Drive near Clark Avenue.

At approximately 4:51 a.m., police investigated a report of shots heard in the area of East McCarty Street near Eastland Drive. Then, around 4:58 a.m., an officer on patrol reported hearing shots from the area of Riverside Park.

Never heard or seen anything on KRCG News. They are stuck up Columbia mo butt. it will take a skilled Proctologist , to remove them form it.

No kidding. Columbia has two stations and yet Jefferson City's own KRCG spends most of their newscast reporting Columbia news. If I wanted Columbia news I would have tuned the TV to KMIZ or KOMU.

It seems no amount of messages will dissuade KRCG from kissing up to Columbia. A longtime beloved institution will never gain the Columbia crowd, they will just continue to kiss.

Ya since the original owners sold the TV station and this paper the TV station wants to be in Columbia and the Paper wants to be a Liberal rag.
