Jefferson City woman injured in wreck

Editor's note: See the correction posted below.

A Jefferson City woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision at a city intersection on Wednesday.

Officers were dispatched around 4:06 p.m. to the intersection of Missouri Boulevard and South Ten Mile Drive.

Police report a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Mora Lewis, 38, of Jefferson City, was making a left turn from South Ten to westbound Missouri Boulevard and turned into the path of a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan traveling eastbound on Missouri, driven by Heathora Keith, 29.

The two vehicles crashed in the intersection. Keith was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Police say Keith was wearing her seatbelt; Lewis was not. Lewis was not injured in the crash.

Correction: Due to an error in a report released by the police department, the injured woman's name was misspelled in the original version of this article. The above text was changed on Jan. 4, 2013, to reflect the correct spelling, which is Heathora Keith.
