Your Opinion: We must continue to elect conservatives

Dear Editor:

I am often amazed by the wisdom of our forefathers. They created a House of Representatives in part so elected officials could not ignore the values and wishes of those who did not vote for them. Thank you to the framers of our Constitution.

It is increasingly difficult to elect conservatives in statewide and national elections because of the geographically concentrated vote from the urban welfare communities and those who simply want a larger part of the pie for themselves or others without paying for it. But those voters cannot influence elections in geographically defined districts outside of their own. That is why many state legislatures and more importantly the US House of Representatives is dominated by conservatives.

It is imperative that conservatives not give up the cause. We can continue to elect conservatives where we can. There is still a lot of opportunity to protect our heritage and values. It is also important that we let conservative legislators know that we are still here. We must give them the confidence to continue to protect our heritage and values and to continue to block the Obama agenda.
