A Eugene man has been charged with second-degree assault for driving a vehicle earlier this month while intoxicated and resulting in the injury of a passenger.
The Missouri Highway Patrol said Cameron T. Beck, 19, was driving southbound on Missouri 17, about .4 miles south of Cedar Knoll Drive, on Dec. 2 when he lost control of his vehicle, which went off the right side of the road.
Court documents show Beck struck a road sign and caused serious physical injury to a passenger, identified by the patrol as Austin Bashore, 17, Eugene, who was not wearing a seat belt.
Beck was not injured and was wearing a seat belt.
