The Gillam Family is set to perform Saturday and is ready to showcase several new illusions this year.

The Gillams - Aaron, Denise, and their children, Marie, 13, and David, 11 - are preparing to show some big new illusions at Jefferson City's Miller Performing Arts Center this weekend.

Aaron Gillam said the 90-minute show will include more acts with the entire family this year, as his son and daughter are becoming more active in the act as they get older. Some of the new acts this year will include something called "the window," in which huge glass bulbs are put through a window where Denise Gillam is standing.

"It's an interesting illusion," Aaron Gillam said.

Also in this year's show is a 1950s-themed illusion, which Gillam said would be especially fun.

"We're going to have some big illusions, we will have some audience participation and we'll have a couple of animals there too," Gillam said.

But the show also contains some old favorites that are often requested by audience members.

"We want it to be somewhat familiar to them," Gillam said.

The show is sponsored by Jefferson Bank and benefits the Council for Drug Free Youth. Tickets are $5 and available at Southbank or Samuel's Tuxedos, as well as at the door. The show will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Miller Performing Arts Center.

"It's Vegas quality with family values," Gillam touts.
