Missouri S&T trace takes second, fourth

INDIANAPOLIS - The Missouri S&T men finished second at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, while the women's team came in fourth.

The men had 98 points to finish in second, well back of Indianapolis' 200 points.

Adriel Hawkins (Jefferson City High School) of the Miners came in second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.88 that was a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships. He also finished second in the triple jump with a provisional qualifying mark of 46-101⁄4 and came in fourth in the 60-meter dash (6.91).

On the women's side, Bellarmine won with 156 points. Missouri S&T ended with 64.

Missouri S&T's Katlyn Meier (Vienna High School) came in seventh in the 60-meter dash (8.23). She was also part of the Miners' 4x400-meter relay team that set a school record by finishing second in 4:01.95.
