St. Louis keeps focus on College Hill neighborhood

ST. LOUIS (AP) - An effort to turn around a crime-ridden St. Louis neighborhood is about to enter phase two.

Two weeks ago, St. Louis police flooded the College Hill neighborhood with officers in an effort to cut down on crime. KMOX Radio (http://cbsloc.al/Vwhkey ) reports that the second phase involves several city departments working together to secure vacant houses, clean debris and ensure that street lights are working.

Meanwhile, the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment will pass out information on employment, job training and educational opportunities.

The so called "hot-spot policing" began after four shootings, three of them fatal, occurred in just over a week's period.
