A missing 16-year-old Jefferson City teen - Kiera McLellan - has been found.
"She was hiding at a friend's house," Jefferson City Police Capt. Bob Cynova reported at 12:15 p.m. Monday. "She's fine."
Cynova said the teen has been taken into juvenile custody at the Prenger Center.
McLellan's disappearance caused the Jefferson City Police Department to call in its Special Weapons and Tactical Team on Sunday to search the wooded area near Riverside Park.
On Monday morning, officers were still searching the area in hopes of discovering some clues to her whereabouts and knocking on doors in the neighborhood nearby.
She was last seen Sunday morning around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Capitol Avenue and Riverside Drive.

The Jefferson City Police Department has called in the Special Weapons and Tactical Team to conduct a ground search for Kiera McLellan, the 16-year-old who was reported missing by her parents Sunday.
Detectives and school resource officers are going door-to-door in the area of Riverside Drive, where the teen was last seen, to search for any information on her disappearance. The SWAT team is conducting a woodland area search near Riverside Park as well.
Detectives are interviewing family and friends to develop any possible new leads in the case.

Authorities are asking for the public's help in their quest to find a teenage girl who was reported missing over the weekend.
Sixteen-year-old Keira S. McLellen was last seen in Jefferson City in the area of Riverside Drive and East Capitol Avenue.
Keira's parents contacted the Jefferson City Police Department on Sunday to report that their daughter did not come home Saturday night and that she did not show up for work Sunday.
Keira is described as 5-feet-2-inches tall and weighing 112 pounds. She was last seen wearing a cream sweater, blue jeans, black shirt, white belt and black moccasins.
