Linsenbardt off to good start

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Dylan Linsenbardt of Helias got off to a good start Thursday at the Class 3 state wrestling championships.

Linsenbardt, a senior, pinned Washington sophomore Parker Neptune in the third period to advance to this afternoon's quarterfinals at 113 pounds.

"Dylan got off to a good start, looked good on his feet and wrestled extremely well," Helias coach Travis Reinsch said.

Linsenbardt, who never trailed in the match, will meet Lebanon sophomore Dylan Burns (40-5) in the quarterfinals. Burns advanced with a first-period fall Thursday.

"He's a tough kid, obviously we didn't get to see much of him (Thursday)," Reinsch said. "If Dylan can get ahead early, I think he'll be in pretty good shape."

The Class 3 quarterfinal round begins at 1 p.m.
