Two girls sent to juvenile center after fight at JCHS

Police responded to a a fight between two girls Wednesday morning at Jefferson City High School.
School officials said four other girls were indirectly involved in the fight that occurred at 9:30 a.m.
Two juveniles were sent to the Prenger Family Center. Three girls were sent to the Cole County Sheriff's Department as adults. One girl was released to her parents.
In situations such as these, school board policy allows the principal to suspend students up to 10 days and refer the matter to the superintendent.

Wait until the MEGA School gets built and we have 3500 students on one little campus. Especially adding the 9th graders to the pressure cooker mix- violent fights and assaults will be an everyday occurance. The MEGA School will need to have a full time paddy wagon and ambulance assigned to it.
