Your Opinion: Remember smoking supporters at the polls
Wednesday, February 13, 2013
Recently the Missouri House of Representatives rules committee voted to allow smoking in members’ offices, even though the rest of the Capitol, all other state buildings except prisons and all of Jefferson City are smoke-free.
The four Democrats on the committee voted to make the entire Capitol smoke-free. The eight Republicans voted to continue this practice.
Next time you go to the polls, remember representative Jeanie Riddle of Mokane who voted to allow her fellow members to flaunt their power in the face of public opinion as well as state and city law.
