NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Jiri Tlusty scored two goals in the third period and Cam Ward made 26 saves as the Carolina Hurricanes beat New Jersey 4-2 on Tuesday night, snapping the Devils' five-game winning streak.
Jussi Jokinen and Patrick Dwyer also scored for Carolina, which went 4-1-1 on its six-game road trip.
With Carolina on the power play, Tlusty flipped a shot toward the net that bounced off Devils defenseman Bryce Salvador and over goalie Martin Brodeur at 7:25. Eric Stall earned an assist, extending his point streak to 10 games.
Tlusty later added an empty-net goal.
Ilya Kovalchuk and Ryan Carter scored for the Eastern Conference-leading Devils, who lost in regulation at home for the first time this season (5-1-1).
DUCKS 3, BLACKHAWKS 2, SO
CHICAGO (AP) - Viktor Fasth made two stops in the shootout to remain perfect in six starts and Anaheim beat Chicago in a matchup of the top two teams in the Western Conference.
After Jonathan Toews converted the first shootout attempt for Chicago, Fasth stopped Patrick Kane's backhander and denied Brandon Saad on the right side of the goal to become the first goalie to win his first six NHL starts since Dan Ellis with Dallas and Nashville from Feb. 18, 2004 to Nov. 29, 2007.
Nick Bonino and Corey Perry scored in the tiebreaker for Anaheim, which improved to 3-1 on its season-high, six-game road trip.
RANGERS 4, BRUINS 3 SO
BOSTON (AP) - Ryan Callahan scored as the final participant in the shootout and the New York Rangers recovered after blowing a three-goal, third-period lead to beat Boston.
Henrik Lundqvist stopped 37 shots, plus three of the four attempts in the shootout. Carl Hagelin scored for the second straight game, and Derek Stepan and Anton Stralman each added an unassisted goal for the Rangers.
Tuukka Rask made 26 saves for the Bruins, who have three losses this season and two of them are to the Rangers after regulation.
David Krejci made it 3-1 with 11 minutes left, then Nathan Horton and Brad Marchand scored in the final 91 seconds to send the game into overtime.
New York won for the fourth time in five games.
PREDATORS 1, SHARKS 0, OT
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Colin Wilson scored at 2:08 of overtime, and Nashville beat San Jose to snap a two-game skid.
Pekka Rinne made 25 saves for his second shutout this season in a game in which Nashville set a franchise mark for offensive futility before Wilson scored. The goal ended the drought at just over 176 minutes in a three-game span.
San Jose has lost six straight after opening the season with seven consecutive wins, a streak ended in a 2-1 shootout loss to Nashville on Feb. 2.
Six of the past eight games between these teams have gone past regulation. Wilson got the win for Nashville when he tipped a shot from defenseman Ryan Ellis past Antti Niemi.
The Predators topped the 166:44 scoreless skid, that had been the longest in franchise history, set between Dec. 4-10, 2000.
CAPITALS 6, PANTHERS 5, OT
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Troy Brouwer scored 32 seconds into overtime for Washington, which rallied from a late two-goal deficit and beat Florida.
Washington trailed 5-3 before Eric Fehr scored on a redirect at 14:53 of the third period. Alex Ovechkin then scored a power-play goal with 2:49 left to tie it.
Florida rookie Jonathan Huberdeau had his first multigoal game, and Drew Shore scored his first NHL goal. Tomas Fleischmann and Shawn Matthias also scored for the Panthers, and Scott Clemmensen made 23 saves.
Mike Ribeiro, Karl Alzner and Matt Hendricks also scored for the Capitals. Braden Holtby, who shut out Florida 5-0 on Saturday, stopped 27 shots.
CANADIENS 4, LIGHTNING 3, SO
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Carey Price stopped all three shots in the shootout, David Desharnais had the lone goal in the tiebreaker, and Montreal rebounded after blowing a three-goal lead to beat Tampa Bay.
Victor Hedman scored twice and Sami Salo added a power-play goal during the final six minutes of regulation as the Lightning tied it at 3.
Tampa Bay's Anders Lindback made a series of strong saves during a Montreal power play during overtime. He finished with 31 saves, including six in the extra session.
Price was bidding for his 17th NHL shutout and first since Feb. 11, 2012, when Hedman scored with 5:56 to play.
Brian Gionta, P.K. Subban and Travis Moen scored for the Canadiens, who were 0-2-1 over their previous three games. Price stopped 21 shots.
Tampa Bay, which opened the season 6-1, has since lost five in a row (0-4-1).
SENATORS 2, SABRES 0
OTTAWA (AP) - Craig Anderson made 42 saves, and Erik Karlsson and Erik Condra scored less than two minutes apart in the second period to lift Ottawa over Buffalo.
Anderson, who earned his second shutout of the season, was especially sharp in the third period with the Sabres pressing for the tie. The Senators snapped a two-game slide.
Ryan Miller made 29 saves in the loss.
Condra then doubled the Ottawa 1:54 later, banging home a loose puck off a scramble in front Miller's goal.
Ottawa finished 0 for 8 on the power play.
FLYERS 3, JETS 2
WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) - Brayden Schenn, Kimmo Timonen and Tye McGinn scored to lead Philadelphia to a victory against Winnipeg.
The Flyers (6-7-1), coming off a 5-2 loss in Toronto, won on the road for the second time this season. Jakub Voracek had two assists.
Andrew Ladd scored both goals for the Jets (5-6-1), the last in the closing seconds.
Ilya Bryzgalov was solid in net for the Flyers, who were outshot 26-23.
Al Montoya recorded his first loss as a starter for the Jets.
STARS 4, OILERS 1
EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - Kari Lehtonen made 35 saves, and Dallas extended its winning streak to four with a victory over Edmonton.
Jaromir Jagr, Ryan Garbutt, Brenden Dillon and Eric Nystrom scored for the Stars, who have won five of six.
Taylor Hall scored for the Oilers, who have lost six of seven.
The Stars put the game away with three minutes left when Garbutt scored.
CANUCKS 2, WILD 1
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Robert Luongo made 25 saves, and Vancouver beat Minnesota for its sixth straight win.
Luongo's home shutout streak against the Wild ended at 228 minutes, 26 seconds but he held on for the win. He hasn't lost a game in regulation this season. Luongo lowered his goals-against average to 1.45, behind only Ottawa's Craig Anderson.
Kevin Bieksa and Jannik Hansen scored for Vancouver (8-2-2).
Devin Setoguchi had the only goal for the Wild (6-6-1), whose two-game winning streak was snapped. Minnesota hasn't won in Vancouver since Jan. 31, 2009 (0-9-2).
Darcy Kuemper stopped 28 shots in a losing effort in his NHL debut. Kuemper was called up because Josh Harding was dealing with the effects of medication he takes for multiple sclerosis.
