Lady Falcons climb to No. 2 in latest rankings

The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons just keep climbing.

After sitting in the No. 3 slot a week ago, the Lady Falcons have moved up to No. 2 in Class 3 in the latest rankings compiled by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association and MoSports.com.

Blair Oaks (21-2) closes out its regular season Thursday at home against California before beginning Class 3 District 8 Tournament play. Saxony Lutheran is the only team ahead of Blair Oaks in the rankings.

Chamois is the only other area girls team in the rankings, as the Lady Pirates hold down the No. 10 spot in Class 1 for the second week in a row.

The Helias Lady Crusaders are receiving votes in Class 4.

On the boys side, Fatima remained No. 4 in Class 3 at 23-1 after a win Tuesday. The Comets’ lone blemish came to Hickman, the No. 1 squad in Class 5.

Southern Boone is receiving votes in the Class 3 rankings.
