Helias' Linsenbardt qualifies in Class 3 wrestling

LIBERTY, Mo. - Dylan Linsenbardt of the Helias Crusaders advanced finished second at 113 pounds Saturday in the Class 3 District 4 Wrestling Tournament.

Linsenbardt will start the Class 3 State Tournament on Thursday at Mizzou Arena. Action begins at 5 p.m. and continues through Saturday.

Linsenbardt (44-8) advanced to the title match with a 7-2 victory against Mathew Barmann of Platte County in the semifinals.

The senior then lost by technical fall to Jaret Singh of Kearney, the defending Class 3 113-pound state champion.

Slater Schrimpf won his first two matches by fall at 106 on Saturday to advance to the consolation semifinals. But in the "go or go home" round, he lost 5-0 to Harrison Mamman of Grain Valley.

Three other Crusaders were eliminated in the consolation third round - Austin Schnieders at 145, Zac Stokes at 160 and Alex Schwinke at 195.

Helias finished 11th in the team standings with 41 points. Kearney took team honors with 203, followed by Platte County (192.5) and Staley (161).
