An essay written by Emily Kennedy from Cole County R-1 Schools at Russellville was selected by the Jane Randolph Jefferson Chapter to advance to the Daughters of the American Revolution state competition.
Kennedy's essay was selected from among five entries. Each high school in Cole County is invited to submit one entry.
Others whose essays were submitted by their schools include Alyssa Kristin Gillmore, Blair Oaks High School; Kayleigh Hagenhoff, Cole R-5 Schools in Eugene; Michael Thomas McCoy, Helias Catholic High School; and Natalie Brook Elrod, Jefferson City High School.
