Girls Basketball: Rock Bridge 62, Jefferson City 16

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 2 team in the state was too much for Jefferson City.

Rock Bridge, the second-ranked team in Class 5, topped the Lady Jays 62-16 on Thursday night.

Rock Bridge got all the points they needed in the first quarter, as they held a 23-6 advantage after eight minutes of play. The Lady Bruins extended their lead to 43-12 at halftime and 55-15 after three quarters.

Megan Foster scored 13 of Jefferson's City 16 points.

Jefferson City (2-21) hosts the top-ranked team in Class 4, Incarnate Word, on Thursday.

Rock Bridge won the JV game 48-36. Hannah Hirschvogel paced the Lady Jays (8-11) with 10 points.
