Saint Louis overpowers Fordham

NEW YORK - Dwayne Evans posted a double-double and Cody Ellis scored 22 points off the bench to help Saint Louis down Atlantic 10 Conference-foe Fordham 90-73 Wednesday for its fifth straight win.

Evans finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds and Ellis made 6 of 12 shots, all from 3-point range, in 26 minutes of action. Jordair Jett added 14 points and Grandy Glaze chipped in 10 for Saint Louis, which led wire to wire.

Mandell Thomas paced Fordham (6-17, 2-6) with 22 points and Travion Leonard had 12.

Thomas' layup 2 minutes into the second half trimmed the deficit to five, 44-39, but Saint Louis used a 9-3 run to pull away. The Rams never got any closer than five.

Saint Louis (17-5, 6-2) outscored Fordham 44-32 in the paint and turned 12 Ram turnovers into 17 points. The Billikens dished out a season-high 20 assists with just five turnovers.
