Your Opinion: School proposal supported
Monday, February 4, 2013
Dear Editor:
I support the school board’s proposal for a new high school. In my view, the proposal to be decided upon in the April election is a community issue.
If we want to continue to attract educated and productive citizens to our community, we must address the inadequacies of the current high school facility. The aforementioned citizens do not send their children to schools with trailers and poor graduation rates.
The current proposal is not perfect, but it does address, in my opinion, the two primary challenges of the current building: space and retention.
With the new building proposal and the academies model, the primary challenges are met with practical solutions. The school board has done it’s part, it’s time to do ours.
