Capital Region announces $35 million expansion May 24, 2013

JCTV funding effort on tap

The Jefferson City Council will hear a presentation Monday on the standing of JCTV, which could lead to a final decision on whether the station continues to receive city funds in future years.

Without city funding, JCTV likely will shut down unless another entity, such as Lincoln University, opts to pick up the financial responsibility.

JCTV has been tasked with raising $55,000 to keep the station operating until November, when the city’s new fiscal year begins.

If the money gets raised I would say there are people who still want the station. There are changes to be made if it's to remain viable, but it can be done.

Oh, I hope it stays operating, but everyone around here is so broke, and the few that have money don't want to pay for anything.

Gotta get the wages up somehow. This from the Post-Dispatch:

According to historical Census Bureau data, there is a direct correlation between higher educational attainment and higher per‐capita income. Higher income means more taxes to fund government services. It means a region’s residents have more money to spend on goods and services. That’s an environment that attracts business.
