Eugene blasts Newburg

RICHLAND — It’s going to be No. 1 vs. No. 2 for the title at the Richland Tournament.

The top-seeded Iberia Rangers will meet the second-seeded Eugene Eagles for the crown at 7:30 p.m. today after the teams posted semifinal wins Friday.

Eugene put four players in double figures as it routed third-seeded Newbury 87-50.

Cody Shaw led the way for the Eagles (8-0) with 24 points, while Camerson Massman chipped in with 18. Travis Kempker added 16 and Tyler Kempker had 13.

Ryan Ward had 15 points to pace Newburg and Caleb Robinson had 14.

Iberia moved on with a 52-34 win against fourth-seeded Bourbon.
