Boys Basketball: Eugene tops Richland

RICHLAND, Mo. - Second-seeded Eugene cruised past seventh-seeded Richland 73-54 in the first round of the Richland Holiday Tournament on Thursday night.

Eugene opened up a 20-4 advantage after one period, led 38-14 at halftime and took a 59-35 edge into the final stanza.

Tyler Kempker paced the Eagles with 23 points, Cody Shaw added 13 and Travis Kempker had 12.

Eugene (7-0) continues tournament play at 7:30 p.m. Friday against Newburg.
